General Terms and Conditions of Use

These Terms govern access to and use of ConnectedCare.world and its related digital services, including healthcare discovery, provider connectivity, requests for quotation, appointments, referrals, concierge support and other healthcare-related services.

Introduction

These General Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of ConnectedCare.world, including its website, web portals, mobile applications, provider interfaces, communication channels and related digital services.

The Platform is intended to facilitate healthcare discovery, healthcare tourism, healthcare-provider connections, requests for quotation, appointments, referrals, exchange of information, concierge support and other related services.

By accessing, registering for or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and the applicable Privacy Notice.

These Terms also apply to ConnectedCare.asia, ConnectedCare2u.com and ConnectedCare.my.

1. Definitions

  • 1.1 ConnectedCare.world / Connected Care: means the operator of the Platform and, where applicable, authorised affiliates, contractors and service providers acting on its behalf.
  • 1.2 Healthcare Provider or HCP: includes hospitals, clinics, medical centres, diagnostic facilities, rehabilitation facilities, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and other participating healthcare organisations.
  • 1.3 Patient User: means a person using the Services for personal healthcare purposes, including prospective patients, patients, healthcare travellers, parents, guardians, dependants, family members and authorised representatives.
  • 1.4 Business User: includes Healthcare Providers, agents, medical tourism facilitators, insurers, payers, employers, sponsors, distributors, referral partners, concierge providers and other professional or commercial users.
  • 1.5 User: means any individual or entity accessing, registering for or using the Services.
  • 1.6 Personal Data: has the meaning given under applicable data protection law, including the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 where applicable.
  • 1.7 Sensitive Personal Data: includes health-related and other categories treated as sensitive under applicable law.
  • 1.8 Health-Related Information: includes medical records, diagnoses, treatment information, prescriptions, laboratory results, scans, images, reports and related documents.
  • 1.9 Healthcare Enquiry: means a request for information, assessment, appointment, referral, treatment option, quotation, second opinion, admission or other healthcare-related response.
  • 1.10 RFQ: means a request for quotation submitted through the Platform.
  • 1.11 Facilitator: means an authorised intermediary assisting with a healthcare journey.
  • 1.12 Concierge Services: means optional assistance relating to healthcare journeys, including connections concerning visas, travel, accommodation, transport, food, language support or other logistics.
  • 1.13 Third-Party Provider: means an independent Healthcare Provider, insurer, payment provider, Facilitator, travel provider, accommodation provider, technology provider or other third party accessible through the Platform.

2. Ownership and Scope of the Platform

ConnectedCare.world and its associated software, website, applications, portals, designs, databases, interfaces, branding and content are owned by or licensed to the entity operating the Platform, except for content and information owned or controlled by Users or third parties.

The Services may include healthcare discovery, provider profiles, appointments, RFQs, quotation workflows, communication, referral support, document exchange, healthcare tourism facilitation, concierge coordination, transaction support and other features.

Subject to compliance with these Terms, Users receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the Services for their intended lawful purpose.

3. Role and Disclaimer of ConnectedCare.world

ConnectedCare.world is principally a technology, connectivity and facilitation platform.

Important: Unless expressly stated otherwise, ConnectedCare.world is not the treating Healthcare Provider and does not itself provide medical diagnosis, treatment, clinical judgment, medical advice or emergency healthcare.

Healthcare Providers are independent parties responsible for their professional qualifications, licences, clinical decisions, treatment, patient care, fees, service quality and regulatory obligations.

ConnectedCare.world does not guarantee the availability, suitability, approval or success of any particular provider, treatment, quotation, appointment, referral, visa, travel arrangement, insurer approval or other requested service.

4. Registration and User Accounts

A. Patient Users

Patient Users must have legal capacity to accept these Terms. Persons under 18 may use applicable Services only through a parent, guardian or other lawfully authorised person.

Users may register using identifiers and authentication methods supported by the Platform, including mobile number, email, password and one-time password.

B. Healthcare Providers and Business Users

Persons acting for Healthcare Providers or other organisations represent that they have authority to bind or act for those organisations.

Healthcare professionals must maintain all required professional licences, registrations, qualifications and authorisations.

C. General Account Obligations

Users must provide accurate, current and complete information and update it when necessary.

5. How ConnectedCare.world Works

  • Users may search for Healthcare Providers by country, location, specialty, treatment, expertise, availability or other criteria.
  • Users may submit Healthcare Enquiries or RFQs to selected or appropriate Providers, HCPs or authorised Facilitators.
  • Users may request appointments, referrals, second opinions, treatment information, quotations, admissions or other services.
  • Where a User chooses to connect with a Provider, the User authorises the disclosure of information reasonably necessary to facilitate the connection.
  • Quotations and preliminary assessments are indicative unless expressly confirmed by the relevant Provider.
  • Concierge Services may involve independent third parties and may be subject to separate terms, charges and availability.

6. Fees, Payments, Commissions and Third-Party Charges

Certain Services may be free, while others may involve platform fees, booking fees, facilitation fees, concierge fees, subscription fees, commissions, referral fees or other disclosed charges.

Healthcare Provider fees, hospital charges, professional fees, travel, accommodation, insurance, visa, transport and other third-party costs are determined by the relevant provider unless expressly stated otherwise.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.

Refund, cancellation and rescheduling rights may depend on the relevant Healthcare Provider or Third-Party Provider policy together with any applicable ConnectedCare.world policy.

7. Medical Information and Emergency Matters

The Platform is not intended to replace consultation with a qualified Healthcare Provider.

Users should not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking treatment because of information obtained through the Platform.

Emergency Notice: ConnectedCare.world is not an emergency service. In a medical emergency, Users should contact their relevant local emergency service or seek immediate care from an appropriate Healthcare Provider.

8. Privacy, Data Protection and Information Sharing

Personal Data and Health-Related Information will be processed according to the ConnectedCare.world Privacy Notice and applicable data protection law.

By requesting an appointment, RFQ, quotation, referral, concierge service or other Service, Users authorise disclosure of information reasonably necessary to relevant Providers and other parties involved in fulfilling that request.

Information may be processed across borders where necessary to provide international healthcare and healthcare-tourism Services, subject to applicable law and appropriate safeguards.

9. Security and User Responsibilities

ConnectedCare.world will implement reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the Services and information processed.

Users are responsible for safeguarding their passwords, devices, authentication credentials and account access.

No internet-based service is completely secure.

10. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

Users must use the Platform lawfully and only for its intended purposes.

  • Do not impersonate another person or organisation.
  • Do not submit false, misleading, fraudulent, unlawful, abusive or discriminatory content.
  • Do not upload another person’s information without lawful authority.
  • Do not attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems or networks.
  • Do not introduce malware or malicious code.
  • Do not scrape, reproduce, reverse engineer, resell or commercially exploit Platform content except where permitted.
  • Do not circumvent security, access, payment, booking or verification mechanisms.

11. Healthcare Provider and Business User Obligations

Healthcare Providers are responsible for the accuracy of their profiles, credentials, services, quotation information, prices and availability.

Providers must comply with applicable laws, professional standards, licensing requirements and patient-care obligations.

Patient information received through the Platform must be used and protected only for lawful healthcare or related purposes.

12. Intellectual Property

Rights in the Platform, including software, design, text, interfaces, graphics, trademarks, logos, databases, workflows and original content, are owned by or licensed to the Platform operator.

User medical records and Health-Related Information do not become the property of ConnectedCare.world merely because they are uploaded, transmitted or processed through the Platform.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

The Platform may contain links to or integrations with Healthcare Providers, payment providers, insurers, travel providers, accommodation providers, government portals and other third parties.

ConnectedCare.world does not control independent third-party services and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices, acts or omissions.

14. Modifications to the Services and Terms

ConnectedCare.world may add, modify, suspend or discontinue features or Services for operational, commercial, legal, regulatory, security or technical reasons.

These Terms may be amended periodically, with the current version made available through the Platform.

15. Suspension and Termination

ConnectedCare.world may suspend or terminate access where Users breach these Terms, misuse the Platform, create security or legal risk, engage in unlawful activity or fail verification.

Account termination does not necessarily require immediate deletion of all information where retention is permitted or required by law.

16. Disclaimers

The Platform and Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law.

ConnectedCare.world does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, availability in every location, or outcomes relating to medical treatment, quotations, appointments, referrals, insurance, visas, travel arrangements or third-party services.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ConnectedCare.world will not be liable for loss or damage arising from the independent acts, omissions, clinical decisions, treatment, advice, pricing, availability or service quality of Healthcare Providers or other third parties.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

18. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless the ConnectedCare.world operator and related parties from claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable costs arising from unlawful Platform use, breach of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, fraud, wilful misconduct or unauthorised disclosure of another person’s information.

19. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.

The parties should first attempt in good faith to resolve disputes through negotiation.

If a dispute is not resolved, the parties may pursue any dispute-resolution mechanism agreed in writing or otherwise available under applicable Malaysian law.

20. Force Majeure

ConnectedCare.world will not be liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic, war, civil disturbance, government action, telecommunications failure, widespread internet outage, power failure or certain cyber and infrastructure events.

21. General Provisions

  • 21.1 Severability: invalid or unenforceable provisions will not invalidate the remaining Terms.
  • 21.2 No Waiver: failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
  • 21.3 Assignment: Users may not assign rights under these Terms without prior written consent.
  • 21.4 Entire Agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Notice and accepted service-specific or commercial terms form the applicable agreement concerning Platform use.
  • 21.5 Electronic Communications: notices may be delivered through the Platform, email, electronic notification or supplied contact details.
  • 21.6 Language: where translated, the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law unless otherwise required.

22. Privacy Notice

The ConnectedCare.world Privacy Notice forms an important part of these Terms and explains how Personal Data and Health-Related Information are collected, used, disclosed, transferred, protected and retained.

23. Contact Us

Questions, notices or concerns concerning these Terms may be submitted using the contact details published on ConnectedCare.world.

The final published Terms should include the full legal name of the operating entity, company registration number, registered/business address, official legal notice email, privacy contact email and telephone number.
